Beginning on June 27, 2009, I will embark on Project 365. For those of you not familiar with P365, the project entails taking a photograph every day for a year. June 27 will mark my 22nd birthday, and the beginning of a year in which I know I will experience many new things and be forced to deal with many changes in my life, including graduating from college, moving to a new city, and in a broad sense really beginning my adult life.

There are many things I hope to accomplish with P365. Through the documentation of my daily life, I want to be able to both reflect on my experiences and track my growth as a human being. In addition to maintaining this record, I will use it as a medium to give visual form to my inner thoughts and feelings. By taking at least one photograph a day, it is almost certain that I will also grow as a photographer, and further develop my artistic eye.

I find that so many people start a new year realizing that they have little to show for the year previous. In this way I see Project 365 as a catalyst; a call to get out into the world and discover something new everyday, rather than accept the redundancy and mediocrity that inevitably comes with everyday life.

This is a period in my life that I neither want to waste nor forget. If I succeed with Project 365, I am certain this will not happen.
